As will be all too well-known for Spurs fans, the club haven’t recruited any new players in the past two windows.

Will this summer prove different?

Real Betis playmaker Giovani Lo Celso

Another potential Tottenham signing this summer is Spanish playmaker Giovani Lo Celso.

As confirmed in the Times on Wednesday, Spurs have lodged an official bid for the midfielder:

Tottenham Hotspur have offered up to £53 million, which would be a club-record transfer fee, for the Real Betis attacking midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

But will that bid prove successful? The Times indicate that Tottenham may have to up their offer to get the deal done:

(Spurs) are likely to face competition from Premier League rivals, while the Spanish club want closer to Lo Celso’s £88 million release clause because they must pay 20 per cent of the transfer fee to his former club Paris Saint-Germain.

Serge Aurier & Monaco

Aurier has been injured in recent weeks, while the Ivory Coast international has appeared behind Kieran Trippier in the pecking order.
