Harry Kane sends message to Spurs fans after Liverpool/hints he’ll still be at the club next season

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has this afternoon taken to social media to react to his side’s Champions League final defeat to Liverpool.

Liverpool 2-0 Spurs

Mauricio Pochettino’s men went head to head with Premier League rivals Liverpool in Madrid last night.

The north Londoners endured a tumultuous, drama-filled road to the Wanda Metropolitano showpiece, having miraculously emerged from the competition’s group stages having looked dead-and-buried, thanked VAR’s intervention for ruling out an injury-time Raheem Sterling winner in the quarter-finals, and overturned a 3-goal aggregate deficit in the second-leg of their semi-final matchup with Ajax.

As such, the Tottenham faithful could have been forgiven for beginning to think that their first ever Champions League triumph was written in the stars ahead of kick-off last night.

What transpired over the ensuing 90 minutes in the Spanish capital, though, saw the Londoners simply fail to perform.

A lacklustre Spurs showing all over the pitch eventually saw strikes from Mo Salah and Divock Origi either side of half-time guide Liverpool to their 6th European title.

‘Come back stronger next year’

Of those to have disappointed for Tottenham last night, none were more widely-criticized than Harry Kane.

Hitman Kane, who spent the 2 months leading up to the Madrid clash sidelined with an ankle ligament problem, looked some way off the pace, with Liverpool’s back-four having dealt with the threat posed by their opposition’s captain with minimal fuss.

As such, Kane has since taken to social media to post a message to Spurs’ fans, thanking them for their support throughout the campaign, and assuring that he and the rest of the club’s squad will return ‘stronger next year’:
