Maurizio Sarri to sign with Juventus next week- Fabrizio Romano

Sarri wins silverware in first season

Maurizio Sarri joined Chelsea last summer from Serie A side, Napoli.

Sarri would bring along Jorginho from his former club to implement his ‘Sarri-ball’ style of play.

There were a few bumps in the road along the way. But all-in-all you can argue Sarri had a pretty successful debut season in England.

The Italian finished 3rd in the Premier League, securing Champions League football.

Sarri also guided Chelsea to two cup finals, losing the League Cup final on penalties and then winning the Europa League final 4-1 vs Arsenal.

Sarri set for Juventus

However, Sarri looks to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge after just a year at the helm.

Juventus would part ways with Massimiliano Allegri at the end of the 2018/19 season and have since been searching for a replacement.

Now, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano writing in the Guardian claims Sarri is set to join the Serie A Champions next week.

Sarri’s agent reportedly met with Chelsea on Friday to negotiate his client’s freedom.

Juventus are also said to be confident they will not have to pay a fee to land Sarri’s services.

However, Sky in Italy would report earlier this week that Juve must pay Sarri’s £5.3m release clause in order to sign him.

If Sarri is to sign for Juventus Chelsea may struggle to sign a top quality replacement given they are set to serve a two-window transfer ban.

Although, Chelsea have appealed the ban to the CAS on Friday.
