Torino secure 10 million Euro deal for Chelsea’s Ola Aina

As per a report from reliable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Serie A outfit Torino have clinched a deal with Chelsea over the permanent signing of Ola Aina.

Chelsea starlet

Aina, a versatile 22-year-old Nigerian international, came up through the youth ranks of Chelsea, before breaking into the club’s first-team setup for the first time in 2015.

However, after struggling for game-time over the seasons that followed, eventually amounting to just 25 minutes of Premier League game-time over the 2015/16 and 2016/17 campaigns combined, Aina was inevitably farmed out on loan the following year.

And, on the back of a productive spell in the Championship with Hull City, the youngster was subsequently snapped up on another temporary deal by Italian outfit Torino last summer.

Aina went on to play a key role in the impressive campaign enjoyed by the Granata over the last 9 months, racking up 30 league appearances as Walter Mazzarri’s men finished in 7th-place in the Serie A table.

The 7-time capped international played in a whole range of roles over the course of the season, including at full-back, on the wing and in defensive midfield.

Toro stay

And Aina’s fine form at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino appears to have proven more than enough to convince the club’s hierarchy of his long-term future in Turin.

As per the aforementioned report from Gianluca Di Marzio, Torino have secured a deal with Chelsea, whereby Aina will join the Granata on a permanent basis this summer.

The agreement is said to be worth 10 million Euro, with an official announcement expected imminently.
