Eddie Howe provides Bournemouth injury update ahead of Sheffield United

Bournemouth vs Sheffield United

Bournemouth will kick off their 2019/20 campaign on Saturday vs Sheffield United.

The Cherries had a solid start to last season, but dipped off as the year went on.

Eddie Howe’s side would eventually finish the season down in 14th place.

As for Sheffield United, it is their first PL game since winning promotion from the Championship.

The Blades have made some solid signings this summer, and should prove a decent test for the Cherries.

Bournemouth injury update

Ahead of Saturday’s clash, Eddie Howe has been speaking about Bournemouth’s injuries.

Howe confirmed that as well as long-term injury absentees, David Brooks and Lloyd Kelly will miss the tie:

“The long term injuries are still out of course. David Brooks and Lloyd Kelly will miss out as well which is a shame.”

“Once we get everyone fit, I think it will be the best squad I’ve ever had to manage here.

“We’ll work to get everyone back and we’re excited by that.”

Injury analyst Ben Dinnery puts the long-term injuries Howe spoke about as Dan Gosling, Junior Stanislas, Simon Francis and Lewis Cook.
