Jose Mourinho joins Sky Sports for 2019/20 season/First appearance set for Man United vs Chelsea

English broadcaster Sky Sports have this morning confirmed the high-profile addition of Jose Mourinho to their panel, for the coming campaign.

Mourinho’s recent struggles

Portuguese tactician Mourinho was relieved of his duties at Premier League giants Manchester United last December, following a dismal start to the season which saw many call into question whether the 55-year-old has what it takes to manage at the top-level anymore.

The earlier years of Mourinho’s career saw the one-time midfielder secure a number of high-profile trophies, including the Champions League with Porto, back-to-back Premier League titles with Chelsea, and even the treble with Inter Milan.

However, though he has since clinched another Premier League title during a second stint with Chelsea, the La Liga crown with Real Madrid and the Europa League with Manchester United, Mourinho has actually been sacked from his last 3 managerial positions.

As such, work in the dugout has since proven hard to come by for the legendary tactician.

But, as per the aforementioned report this morning, Mourinho has today been handed a new position, albeit away from the pitch.

In an announcement across the broadcaster’s social media platforms, Sky Sports have confirmed that the Setubal native has joined their team for the 2019/20 campaign, which got underway last night at Anfield:

It was also confirmed that Mourinho’s first appearance as part of his new role will come when former clubs Manchester United and Chelsea go head-to-head tomorrow evening:
