Lucas Torreira & Alexandre Lacazette: Arsenal early team news vs Burnley

Arsenal vs Burnley

The Gunners got off to a winning start in the Premier League on Sunday at Newcastle.

A second-half goal from last season’s joint-top Premier League goalscorer, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, earned Unai Emery all three points.

At the other end of the pitch, Arsenal’s clean sheet will also be a huge boon.

Last season, Arsenal only recorded one clean sheet on the road in their entire Premier League campaign.

Next up for Arsenal is a home match against Burnley on Saturday lunchtime.

Burnley also got off to a winning start last weekend, beating Southampton 3-0 at Turf Moor.

Lucas Torreira & Alexandre Lacazette

In The Athletic on Monday, reporter Amy Lawrence has surveyed the Arsenal injury room before the upcoming Burnley clash.

In a boost for the Gunners, some key players could soon be back in action:

Lucas Torreira is close to returning into the team.

Alexandre Lacazette’s ankle should heal soon.

David Luiz needed more than the scant pre-season game time he got at Chelsea to be ready.

Rob Holding is aiming to play after the international break.

Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin will bring more dash to the full-back roles a little further down the line.

Two players who could also miss the Burnley game are Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac, due to off-field problems.

How Arsenal could line-up in the future

When Unai Emery has all options available, Arsenal’s possible XI could look a lot different to the team which played against Newcastle.

At the back, Arsenal’s entire back four could rotate.

Fans will wait to see if Emery’s first choice backline is Bellerin, Holding, Luiz and Tierney.

Further forward, Torreira is also likely to be a regular in the team, while Nicolas Pepe, who made his Premier League debut at St. James’ Park, is also destined to be a starter.
