Paul Pogba’s brother on Man United star’s Real Madrid links: ‘If you have to leave, that’s it’

Paul Pogba’s brother has moved to reiterate the Manchester United midfielder’s desire to make the move to Real Madrid.

Real links

Speculation surrounding the future of Red Devils star man Pogba has been rife this summer.

On the back of a hit-and-miss campaign last time out, during which the Frenchman again proved himself to be one of the most infuriatingly-inconsistent players in world football, Pogba was heavily-targeted by the United faithful on the final day of the season:

As such, the growing tension between the 26-year-old and the Red Devils, coupled with Real Madrid’s public chase of a superstar midfield addition, have resulted in Pogba being hotly-tipped to make a move to the Bernabeu.

The former Juventus man’s agent, Mino Raiola, meanwhile, added fuel to the fire regarding a potential summer exit from Old Trafford for his client last month, in admitting:

‘Everyone within the club from the manager to the owner knows Paul’s wishes.’

‘Everyone knows the willingness of Paul to move on. We are in the process of that. Everyone knows what the feelings of Paul are.’

‘Key to season’

To this point, the United board, though, have stood firm.

A report from the reliable James Ducker of the Telegraph earlier this week even went as far as to state that the board at Old Trafford ‘will not entertain’ any offers for Pogba before the European transfer window slams shut at the beginning of next month:

‘They are missing my brother’

If the latest comments on the part of Pogba’s brother Mathias are anything to go by, however, then the World Cup winner himself has not yet given up on a potential Bernabeu switch.

Speaking in an interview with Spanish outlet El Chiringuito TV last night, Mathias Pogba, currently plying his trade with Manchego, revealed that his sibling is ‘waiting’ for an Old Trafford departure, before suggesting that the United star is what Real Madrid ‘are missing’:

‘[Zinedine] Zidane is one of the greats and I think that if the club give him what he wants, he won’t have a problem, but if they don’t give it to him, he’s going to have a hard time because what he wants is not going to happen, because right now it’s a little late.’

‘They are missing my brother and I think he needs another midfielder. Of course, Florentino [Perez] can get him, nothing is impossible in life.’

‘I don’t think he’s worth €200 million, but now the football world is like that, Manchester are going to ask for a lot, but not €200m.’

‘It’s a delicate situation but the player has his personal goals, if you have to leave, well, that’s it.’

‘I can’t assure you that he is going to stay at United. We know he wanted to move, but he’s not to blame. He’s waiting. He works hard and we’ll see what happens.’

‘In football, you never know. Until September 2 everything can happen. My brother’s dream is to win the Champions League.’
