Tottenham: Juventus decide to keep Paulo Dybala, transfer is off

Tottenham: Juventus to keep Paulo Dybala

The BBC’s David Ornstein has confirmed that Tottenham’s hopes of signing Paulo Dybala are over.

In the end the deal has collapsed because “Juventus ultimately decided not to sell the 25-year-old Argentina forward”.

Spurs had reportedly been working overtime in the past few days to try to sign Dybala.

Indeed, reports circled that Dybala had agreed wages with Spurs, Juventus had agreed a 75 million euro deal, but the sticking point was thought to be over the player’s image rights.

Yet, according to the BBC, in the end Juve have simply chosen to retain the striker.

That leaves open the following questions.

– Why did it take so long for Juventus to reach this decision?

– What state of mind will Dybala now be in when he returns to Turin after his club flirted with selling him all summer?

Giovani Lo Celso & Ryan Sessegnon

While the Dybala deal may be off, Spurs should still make two signings today.

On transfer deadline day, it’s been widely confirmed that Lo Celso will join Tottenham.

The Argentine midfielder has been linked with Spurs all summer long, and, according to the Guardian, Lo Celso will sign on at Tottenham for 55 million pounds.

Another player set to join Spurs today is Ryan Sessegnon.

The 19-year-old has agreed a deal to leave Fulham, reports the BBC.
