Victor Lindelof: Swede may double salary signing a new Man United contract

Victor Lindelof & staying at Man United

According to the Mirror on Thursday, Victor Lindelof could soon sign a new deal with Man United.

And should Lindelof agree a contract extension at Old Trafford, the centre-half could more than double his wages.

Reporter David McDonnell believes that Lindelof’s new agreement could be worth a staggering 46.8 million pounds:

Manchester United are ready to hand defender Victor Lindelof a double-your-money contract extension worth £46.8million.

United are ready to offer Lindelof a three year extension worth £150,000-a-week that would keep him at Old Trafford until 2025.

Lindelof’s current deal at Old Trafford

Man United spent £31 million to sign Lindelof from Benfica two years ago.

Last season, Lindelof played 31 times in the Premier League, scoring once.

In total in 2019-20, Lindelof made 40 appearances for Man United.

The 25-year-old is presently under contract with the Red Devils until 2021.

Moreover, Man United have the option to extend Lindelof’s existing contract by another twelve months.

The Mirror also claim that the Swede presently earns 75,000 pounds a week at the Theatre of Dreams.

Why are Man United keen on agreeing a new deal with Lindelof?

The Mirror explains that “Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees the Sweden international as a long-term partner for Harry Maguire at centre-half”.

That beggars the question, is Lindelof likely to leave Man United anytime soon?

Earlier in the summer, the Spanish press suggested that Barcelona could be readying a move for Lindelof.

Indeed, the player’s agent recently confirmed:

Lindelof is in the orbit of a great European club, but leaving United depends on the English club.
